Em 1991 teve sua pista alongada mais mil metros com uma estrutura sustentada por 180 pilares de 50 metros de altura cada, somando um total de 2871 metros.&lt;br /&gt;E o mais interessante é embaixo da extenção foi criado um espaço para shows e eventos.&lt;br /&gt;Achei estas fotos nesse forum &lt;a href="http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=563719"&gt;aqui&lt;/a&gt;. Lá está exposto sobre um pedestal um avião antigo, o que muitas pessoas questionam que avião é esse, e como foi parar lá.&lt;br /&gt;Bem é o seguinte, em 1965 o então prefeito Cyro Gevard com a intenção de trazer uma atracão exótica para o parque "iniciou negociações com o Ministério da Aeronáutica para a cessão de um avião para municipal de Brusque". O próximo prefeito, Antônio (Neco) Heil, deu continuidade aos contatos. "Em 15 de abril de 1969, chegaram a Brusque três sargentos da Base Aérea de Florianópolis, para montar um pedestal".&lt;br /&gt;O avião em questão é um NORTH AMERICAN (AT-6D) “Texan”, avião para dois pilotos destinado a treinamento avançado. Voou pela primeira vez em 1935. dos aviões italianos mais famosos foi protagonista de muitas façanhas em sua época. Hidroavião de dois botes com dois motores em linha, foi usado tanto na versão civil como militar, atuando como bombardeio e reconhecimento marítimo na Luftwaffe e no exército italiano na segunda guerra mundial.&lt;br /&gt;Entre 13 de fevereiro e 16 de janeiro de 1927 um s 55 batizado com o nome de “Santa Maria”, tendo como tripulação Coronel Francesco De Pinedo, Major Carlo Del Prete e mecânico Vittale Zacchetti efetuou o Reide das duas Américas. A viagem foi dividida em três etapas, a primeira de Elmas(Itália) a Buenos Aires. A segunda etapa de Buenos Aires a Phoenix, Arizona. Quando o S 55 desceu em Phoenix um incêndio destruiu todo o aparelho. A tripulação encomendou outro aparelho batizado de “Santa Maria II”, que foi enviado de Génova a Nova York no transatlântico "Duilio". A terceira etapa efetuou-se de Nova York a Roma. Ainda neste ultimo trajeto outro acidente viria acontecer perto da ilha dos Açores. Submetido a continuo e forte vento contrário, o "Santa Maria II" registrou um consumo excessivo de gasolina e teve que descer em pleno Atlântico a uns 200 km da ilha das Flores. Essa descida forçada ocasionou diversas avarias e o aparelho teve que ser rebocado para acosta. Depois de reparos realizados em Lisboa o aparelho enfim chegou a Roma em 16 de junho de 1927.&lt;br /&gt;De 17 de dezembro de 1930 a 15 de janeiro de 1931, Ítalo Balbo guiou quatorze S 55 de Ortobello (Itália) ao Rio de Janeiro. Somente conseguiram completar a travessia 11 aparelhos, quatro se envolveram em acidentes matando e ferindo suas tripulações. O feito ficou registrado como um marco no planejamento estratégico. Ao chegarem, os aparelhos foram comprados pelo Brasil, negociados por café, e entregues a Aviação Naval. E em junho de 1931 foi realizado um reide com pilotos brasileiros, comandado pelo Capitão-de-Corveta Antonio Augusto Schorcht, do Rio a Buenos Aires e Montevidéu.&lt;br /&gt;O mesmo Ítalo Balbo em 1933 conduziu vinte e quatro S 55 no cruzeiro do Atlântico Norte.&lt;br /&gt;Também em 1926 o brasileiro João Ribeiro de Barros efetuou a travessia heróica e cheia de dificuldades de Genova a Santo Amaro com um Savoia Marchetti S 55 batizado “Jahú”. Nichols retirou os anti-heróis, Dick Vigarista e Muttley das corridas de carro para os céus da provável Primeira Guerra Mundial. Completam o time o gorducho Klunk, inventor das incríveis geringonças para capturar o pombo. E por ultimo, Zilly que dever ser o cara mais medroso do mundo e o único que consegue entender o que o Klunk diz.&lt;br /&gt;A missão da Esquadrilha Abutre era perseguir um pombo correio chamado Doodley. Durante a Primeira Guerra quando o rádio ainda estava em desenvolvimento o meio mais comum de enviar informações das trincheiras do front era através de mensagens em pombos correios. Quando um pombo era solto o exército inimigo tentava alveja-lo, em alguns casos soltavam-se falcões famintos para impedir o pombo de levar sua mensagem ao destino pretendido.&lt;br /&gt;Um das coisas que mais me intrigavam no desenho era o formato de alguns aviões com a cabine do piloto na frente da asa e o motor com hélice para trás, normalmente atrás do piloto. Os aviões caíram em um bairro residencial, matando 45 pessoas. As autoridades anunciaram que “a manobra era uma volta não planejada por um piloto despreocupado”, mas segundo o que se descobriu posteriormente, na verdade a manobra era mal planejada. Idealizado por Andrei Tupolev e batizado com o nome de Maxim Gorki - escritor russo cuja obra tem um forte cunho social, ajudou a organizar o primeiro jornal legal do partido Bolchevique - foi financiado por uma subscrição publica soviética. Era planejado para propósitos de propaganda stalinistas, onde era equipado com máquina impressora e laboratório de fotografia para impressão de folhetos quando em vôo, alto-falantes poderosos chamados “Voz do Céu”. Equipamentos para projetar filmes e adaptado com lâmpadas para exibir logotipos de baixo das asas, as quais tinham envergadura de 63 metros. No dia 18 de maio de 1935 o ANT mais três aviões decolaram para um vôo de demonstração sobre Moscou quando um dos aviões manobra em bate em sua asa fazendo os aviões caírem sobre um bairro residencial. Acidente este que motivou muitas controvérsias.&lt;br /&gt;Foi construída uma nova versão da aeronave denominada ANT-20bis dotado somente com seis motores e capacidade para 64 passageiros. Porém o seu motor Naiper Sabre 1 revelou-se ser fraco e o avião muito robusto não permitia bom desempenho em grandes altitudes. Tendo sido o motor substituído pelo Bristol Centaurus revelou-se um ótimo avião de ataque ao solo. Para tanto o aparelho passou a utilizar canhões Hispano de 20mm para ataques a blindados, além de contar com bombas ou oito foguetes com cargas explosivas de 27 kg sob as asas. Apesar do sistema de mira ser rústico o Typhoon foi utilizado em ataques de precisão. Foram usados largamente na invasão da Normandia nos ataques por atrás das linhas alemães. Uma monstruosidade de 41 metros de comprimento e 10 metros de altura, pesando aproximadamente 48 toneladas, utilizava 12 motores dispostos em seis grupos de duas hélices – uma na frente e outra atrás – alocada sobre as assas.&lt;br /&gt;Considerado o maior avião do mundo foi construído fora da Alemanha, na porção Suíça do lago Constance, devido a restrições impostas a após a derrota na Primeira Guerra Mundial.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Vôos iniciais&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Em 12 de junho de 1929 foi lançado para os primeiros testes e em 21 de outubro do mesmo ano fez seu vôo inaugural com 169 pessoas, quebrando vários recordes e principalmente o do numero de pessoas a bordo.&lt;br /&gt;No dia 2 de novembro de 1930 o Do X partiu do Friedrischshafen na Alemanha para uma excursão mundial que o levaria a Lisboa, Amsterdã, Rio de Janeiro, Miami e Nova York em uma viagem cheia de peripécias. Em Portugal um incêndio consumiu boa parte de uma das asas, que obrigou a tripulação aguardarem por uma semana enquanto praticamente toda asa era refeita. Depois de uma viagem a América do Sul a tripulação ficou nove messes em Nova Iorque onde foram revisados todos os motores. A 24 de maio de 1932 finalmente o Do X chegou a Berlim onde foram saudados como heróis por uma multidão de 200.000 pessoas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EItF8kr3K7E" width="425" height="350" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A Lufthansa, linha aérea nacional Alemã o comprou da Companhia de Dornier que estava com dificuldades financeiras, para operar uma linha para Viena, Budapeste e Istambul 1933. Mas a viagem terminou perto da cidade de Passau onde a cauda se rasgou em uma aterrisagem, cancelando a viagem. Abaixo coloquei um trecho do livro.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“Em outubro de 1920, a Aviação Naval também fez uma tentativa para realizar o &lt;strong&gt;reide Rio – Buenos Aires&lt;/strong&gt;; o Tenente Virginius Brito de Lamares e o Suboficial Antônio Joaquim da Silva Junior, num hidroavião Macchi 9, de construção italiana, decolaram do Rio de Janeiro no dia 6 de outubro de 1920; depois de pousarem em santos prosseguiram no mesmo dia, mas, ao passarem na altura de Camboriú, depois de Itajaí, tiveram uma avaria no comando dos “ailerons” e foram obrigados a descer; decolando ainda no mesmo dia, bateram numa pedra submersa, mas prosseguiram com a decolagem; com o cair da noite, foram forçados a descer em Anhatomirim, pouco antes de Florianópolis; as avarias no casco, causadas pela pedra em Camboriú fizeram o avião naufragar, a alguns metros da praia; as asas foram desmontadas e o avião foi rebocado para Florianópolis, onde forma feitos reparos de emergência.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;O hidroavião decolou de Florianópolis no dia 16 de outubro; ao passar por Laguna, os suportes do “aileron” se desprenderam, o que os obrigou a descer na Lagoa Imaruí, tendo a asa direita entrado na água, no pouso; novos reparos forma feitos em Laguna.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A decolagem de Laguna só foi feita no dia 26 de outubro; depois de pousarem em Cideira e na Lagoa dos Patos, devido a um deslocamento do revestimento de lona da hélice, chegaram em Porto Alegre no mesmo dia tendo descido no Rio Guaíba.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Decolaram de Porto Alegre no dia 30 de outubro e depois de um pouso em Pelotas. Vou aproveitar a empolgação agora que ganhei um livrão sobre aviões da Mili - valeu, adorei.&lt;br /&gt;Existe muita coisa legal espalhada pela net, principalmete vídeos de momentos raros, que vou tentar complilar por aqui, sugestões serão bem vindas.&lt;br /&gt;Os meus interesses são principalmente os pioneiros da avição, e a primeira guerra, mais isso não é restritivo, não quer dizer que neste espaço aparecerão outros períodos e assuntos.
